Layla Hybrid Mattress Review 2024

Here's the mattress: the Layla Hybrid. Aside from its hybrid design, this bed's dual-in-one firmness settings are among its best features. This is so because the Layla Hybrid mattress has two distinct firmness levels that are made to be slept on. Because you can turn the mattress to the opposite side once the first side wears out, this innovation increases the bed's versatility and extends its lifespan.

Though it might only be ideal for some, the Hybrid costs more than the flagship Layla. Read on for the best review of this mattress.

Layla Hybrid Mattress Pros

Here are the pros of the Layla Hybrid Mattress.

  • Offers two firmness levels, making it suitable for all sleeping positions
  • Light and airy memory foam feel
  • Hybrid construction accommodates all body types
  • Regulates temperature better than a typical memory foam bed

Layla Hybrid Mattress Cons

Here are the cons of the Layla Hybrid Mattress.

  • Too expensive for a budget shopper
  • Not great for people who want a bouncy mattress

Layla Hybrid Mattress Firmness

Unlike the original Layla mattress, the Layla Hybrid mattress has one colour on the sides instead of two. The "firm" and "soft" ends of the mattress can only be determined by looking at the label at the end of the mattress. The firm side is more of a medium-to-medium firm than a solid firm. We would grade it a 6 out of 10 on the firmness scale.

We would give the soft side a 3 out of 10 on the firmness scale. It is more like a medium-soft. As you nestle inside the foam, you sink further into the top comfort layers, offering a pleasant pressure-relieving sensation.

Layla Hybrid Mattress Comfort

Most mattress support systems are at the mattress's bottom, so the design is a touch-off. However, the base is in the middle because the Layla Hybrid can be flipped.

The 13-inch construction of the bed is broken down as follows:

  • To enhance comfort and regulate temperature better, a 2.5-inch layer of copper-gel memory foam is layered on the soft side.
  • As a transition layer, a layer of textured foam is placed for ventilation and allocated for more specialised assistance.
  • A 6-inch pocketed innerspring system with twin coils around the edges to enhance edge support is located in the centre.
  • For better airflow, the hard side's beginning contains textured foam, the same as the soft side.
  • A 1-inch layer of copper-gel memory foam, which is also present on the soft side of the mattress, makes up the top of the firm layer. It serves as the primary comfort material, but to make it seem more supporting, the firm side is somewhat thinner.

Layla Hybrid Mattress Feel

Though it feels a little more supportive, the Layla Hybrid mattress has a similar sensation to the original Layla mattress. But We still have that same fluffy, airy memory foam feeling—it's not as dense as a TempurPedic or Nectar mattress. Although the foam adapts to your pressure points and curves, it doesn't always give you that "sinking" feeling that some memory foam users find unsettling. Additionally, the soft side feels more contouring than the firm side.

Because of the many foam layers sandwiching the innerspring, you can't feel it, even though you can tell it's a hybrid mattress because of the extra support provided by the steel coils in the centre.

Layla Hybrid Mattress Motion Isolation

It's important to have a mattress that is effective at isolating motion, especially in the middle of the night, when you least want to wake up and when sleeping with a partner is one of the worst periods of the night for disruption. Layla uses memory foam, which excels at accommodating changes in position. Couples should have no trouble using the Layla Hybrid mattress, in my opinion.

Layla Hybrid Mattress Edge Support

To improve edge support, Layla planned ahead and included twin coils around the edges of the coil layer. This indicates that the edge of the mattress doesn't seem weak or flimsy, which is helpful if you like to sit on the edge or sleep close to it.

Layla Hybrid Mattress Temperature

The Layla Hybrid mattress has memory foam infused with copper, so it doesn't feel cold. Because the bed doesn't retain heat like older memory foam has a reputation for doing, the copper helps.

What is the Layla Hybrid Mattress Best For?

Your preferred sleeping position and body type should also play a role in selecting the ideal mattress for you, along with your budget.

Sleeping Position

The Layla Hybrid could accommodate a variety of sleeping habits because it can be flipped and has two sides with varying degrees of firmness. The soft side's extreme plushness and pressure-relieving properties around the hips and shoulders will especially appeal to side sleepers.

Body Type

All body types, from small to plus-size and all in between, will love this bed. It's important to remember that, unless they have a specific requirement, like back discomfort, persons under 150 pounds may only sometimes require the extra support that a hybrid mattress offers.
